Our Team

 

Lyle K. Benson, Jr.: Lyle founded L. K. Benson & Company in late 1994 after spending 15 years in public accounting. He works extensively with clients in the areas of financial planning, estate and charitable planning, investment monitoring, and tax planning. Understanding our clients' overall goals and developing strategies to reach them is his primary role. He coordinates the services of the other team members.

Lyle is a national leader in the CPA/Financial Planning profession, has chaired numerous national conferences, is currently the chairman of the AICPA PFP Executive committee, and has been awarded the distinguished service award by the AICPA. He is a CPA, holds a Master's of Taxation, is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and was one of the first in the country to hold the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation. He has taught financial planning courses throughout the country.

 

Rosemary Parkinson: Rosemary is also a CPA with a Master's Degree in Accounting. Her areas of expertise include accounting and the preparation of tax returns for individuals as well as related entities such as corporations, partnerships, and trusts. She is the firm's contact with the IRS. 

 

 

 

 

 

Chris Benson: Chris joined the firm in May, 2009. He is a CPA with a Master's Degree in Taxation from the University of Baltimore and has successfully completed the Personal Financial Specialist exam through the AICPA. Chris’s primary responsibilities will include working with clients in the tax, personal financial planning, and investment areas. 

 

 

 


Jim Maldeis: Jim is a CPA, has the Master's Degree in Taxation, and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He specializes in analysis of tax issues, investment monitoring, and financial planning analysis. He has over 30 years of experience in helping clients with tax and financial planning issues. 

 

Kelly Sheehan: Kelly focuses on investment monitoring and financial planning services. She prepares the investment reports, and serves as the firm's main contact with money managers and investment custodians. Kelly's understanding of computer technology aids her in organizing our financial planning analytical work. She also manages our billing process. 

 

 

 

Peggy Hundley: Peggy rounds out our team as the primary administrative support for the firm. Her responsibilities include clerical duties such as scheduling and confirming appointments, updating address / email lists, and providing clients with requested information. She also handles the production and presentation of the firm's newsletter, tax returns and investment reports.
